Why is Final Grading important?

Final Grading ensures proper diversion of water away from structures on a property or neighbouring properties in order to prevent future damage. Each municipality will have strict requirements for lot grading and require an inspector to approve and certify a passing Final Grade. A certificate of approval will be required before completing any other landscaping on your property.

Another important step in the process is to ensure that the rough grade has been approved first. The rough grade is the first step in the process and involves the initial shaping of the lot and backfilling against the foundation. Whether you are a builder or a home owner the rough grade certificate is a necessity in order to continue with the landscaping process.

With a over a decade of experience doing final grades and landscaping, Alterra Landscapes and it’s technical staff have what it takes to get you that passing grade!
